I have one suggestion, considering you want to push the focal point, you may want to make the strongest contrast happen right where those two characters are standing. Right now the strongest contrast is that black foreground shape vs. the mid-ground. So place the lightest lights and darkest darks where those two dudes are standing in the midground. I'm sure this is just a sketch, but yeah, just my two cents! Thanks for the inspiration!
