Character ...

I'm always trying to create character ... to really create a person on my paper, someone who is aware of me drawing them, someone with life ...

The last three days I just warmed up with a quick character doodle using the previous day's as inspiration for the next.

Autopilot

A spaceship doodle. Nothing fancy, just keeping the hand moving outside of work. Office Space was on comedy central tonight and it had me cracking up all over again. That movie takes such perfect jabs at 'corporateness' for lack of a better word, or a real word for that matter. Huh, I just googled the word and it looks like it might in fact be a real word. English is a bizarre language. I just ran the spellcheck on blogger though and it flagged it as a fake word. So who's right? I'm guessing blogger and my gut. Google caves in to peer pressure.

Sentry

I took one of those little sketches I posted below and painted it up. I happened to snap a progress shot just after I finished setting up the painting so the curious can see how something like this evolves when I work without direction.

Ashley Wood Style Swipe

Just as I finished this drawing in my digital sketchbook I decided to swerve into Ashley Wood styling for the finish. I feel a little uncomfortable showing something as influenced as this sketch so just pretend that Mr. Wood did it, with his left hand and while dead drunk (right hand if he's left handed).
